Key Responsibilities
- Cleaning walls, fixing gaps, and removing old paint before painting
- Inspect surroundings and examine design plans to assess the type and quantity of work required
- To get the desired hue or texture, combine paint and other materials for a lasting finish if needed
- To prevent messes, prepare the surrounding space by covering it with cloth or plastic
- Purchasing paint, brushes, and other painting related supplies
- Calculating the supplies and time needed for the project
- Maintaining safety rules
- Communicating with clients to ensure they are receiving the desired appearance
- When the project is finished, clean up the materials and replace the fittings
Requirements
- Preferred to have a high school diploma or equivalent degree
- Proven experience as a painter
- Excellent understanding of painting materials, including how to choose, mix, and apply them
- Knowledge of health and safety standards
- Knowledge of commercial and/or construction painting procedures
- Having a keen eye for veridical details
