Key Responsibilities
- Layering building elements such as bricks, concrete, tiles, and other construction materials
- Fabricating, altering, repairing, and upkeeping walls, sidewalks, street curbs, floors, bathroom showers, sink countertops, partitions, manholes, and other similar structures or surfaces
- Reading and following technical drawings
- Operating heavy equipment to perform construction tasks safely
- Coordinating with clients, engineers, and others involved in the project's construction
- Mixing cement and mortar
- Restoring old and worn masonry
- Make assessments, reports and note necessary materials
Requirements
- Minimum high school diploma or relevant degree
- Minimum of 2 years' experience as a mason
- Knowledge in tile, brick, and cement setting
- Ability to work under pressure with less supervision
- Knowledge and skill in the construction, alteration, repair, and maintenance of masonry structures and surfaces
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions including safety policies and procedure manuals
- Management can include any other requirements while needed. The purpose is to help in the development and maintenance of robust, long-lasting service.
